Model railway layouts built by JRS members could be seen at the following model railway exhibitions:
- ModelRailwayClub meeting scheduled for November 20th has been
rescheduled for Saturday, February 19th. Most members should already
have seen this via an insert circulated with B70.
- The committee members meeting will not therefore convene but will
probably run informally from 12.30, in parallel with a British Overseas
Historic Railway Society AGM on Saturday November 27th, in central
London at 'Windsor Castle' pub, near Edgeware Rd tube station.
Nick Lera's 'Vulcan Foundry to the Tropics' video and 2 other
presentations 'Samsun City (Turkey) tramway (Ken McQueen)' and 'East
Africa presentation'(Henry Gunston) will be shown from mid afternoon; I
have requested permission of BOHRT for our committee attendance.
The pub has a Thai menu for those that wish to partake evening, from
18.00hrs. Non committee members may be able to attend all above (bar
formal BOHRT AGM), subject to contacting Chairman for permission of
BOHRT. Richard Tremaine.
Please note that exhibition dates and layouts attending are subject to unannounced change.
Japan Day in Liverpool on July 19th 2008.
The event was
held in Mountford Hall of Liverpool University, which is the University
Guild of Students building at the top of Brownlow Hill, the street to
the immediate right of the landmark Adelphi Hotel.
It
was opened by the Japanese Ambassador who will be welcomed by the
Lord Mayor of Liverpool (and, we hope, the University Vice-Chancellor).
