25 - 26/05/2013 - RAILEX 2013 Model Railway Exhibition

The layout 'Temple Falls' by Ron Upton, is a demonstration of modern Japanese N gauge modelling & will feature at this exhibition. Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Stadium Approach, Aylesbury, HP21 9PP. A heritage bus service will operate from Aylesbury Station to the show. Further information may be found here.

01/06/2013 - Japan Day 2013 in Liverpool

The JRS will have a stand at the Japan Society North-West's Japan Day Exhibition. It will be held at Liverpool Hope University, Cornerstone Building, Creative Campus, Shaw Street, Liverpool L6 1HP. Further information can be found at the JSNW's web site - http://www.jsnw.org.uk/JapanDay/

Featuring the layout 'Heiko Stoll' and will also feature the final demonstration of 'Temple Falls' by Ron Upton. 21/09/2013 - JRS Annual General Meeting

12:00pm at the Model Railway Club, Keen House,4 Calshot Street, London, England. Please contact our Chairman or see our Facebook page for more information. Financial and prospective members welcome to attend. The meeting will be followed by model demonstrations and drinks at an external location.

08/12/2012 - JRS Member Dan Free's Lecture on railways in the Meiji-era (Tokyo JRS Members-Only Event)

2:30pm at the Hitotsubashi University Railway Society, Hitotsubashi University, Kunitachi, Tokyo.
This lecture is being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Hitotsubashi University Railway Society and financial JRS members have been invited to attend. The subject matter will be similar to the public lecture to be held in Osaka. 01/12/2012 - JRS Member Dan Free's Lecture on railways in the Meiji-era (Osaka Open Lecture)

2:00pm at the Modern Transportation Museum, Bentencho, Osaka.
New York based member Dan Free is conducting a lecture about the Meiji-era railways and their impact on the rapidly rising economy of the period. 17/11/2012 - Royston Model Railway Club Annual Exhibition

2 miles north Royston on A1198 (towards Huntingdon). Left at Kneesworth crossroads along The Causeway, about 1 mile to far end of village. Kneesworth/Bassingbourn are linked villages with no obvious split. Exhibition organised by Royston MRClub with an excellent tradition of over 20 years of this annual show, usually held in Royston; this year for 1st time in the new venue. Layouts in various gauges and origins including less seen aspects of the wonderful railways of Japan, much of which originates from their British roots (an inexpensive book 'Japanese Railways in the Meiji Period, 1872-1912' (£6) in 40 pages fully describes the British origins will be available for purchase).

19/07/2008 - Japan Day in Liverpool

The event was held in Mountford Hall of Liverpool University, which is the University Guild of Students building at the top of Brownlow Hill, the street to the immediate right of the landmark Adelphi Hotel. It was opened by the Japanese Ambassador who will be welcomed by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool (and, we hope, the University Vice-Chancellor) A photo report can be found here.
