A JR-Hokkaido 789 series EMU and KiHa48 DMU head northward together from
Hachinohe station on the Super Hakucho service to Hakodate and Umineko
service to Kuji respectively.

A 215 series double-deck EMU approaches Shin-Kawasaki station on a Shonan Shinjuku Line service from Zushi to Shinagawa. On this day, services were terminated at Shinagawa rather than the normal Shinjuku station due to engineering work on the Yamanote Freight Line at Osaki.
